Announcing the Don Quizote Winter League 2022 Winners!

And with that, the Winter League, 2022 comes to an end! We received amazing participation and we were delighted to see so many of you answer enthusiastically. Thank you for ending 2022 on a high!

The intense fight for the coveted first place is won by sanchit1053, with Shivangi Kundu and Tazdik Laskar following up at second and third places respectively. The battle got really close towards the end, with some of you literally refreshing the site few minutes before the scheduled time in order to answer quick (we loved it!).

The points awarded for answering correctly were as follows:

First 5 mins: 20 points
Next 5 mins: 18 points
Next 10 mins : 16 points
Next 10 mins : 15 points
Next 15 mins : 14 points
Next 15 mins : 12 points
Next 30 mins: 10 points
After this, 1 point was deducted for every 30 mins passed.

For the third question (which had a 12 hour answer duration), The first hour followed the same marking scheme, with 1 point being deducted for every hour that passed.

Announcing the Don Quizote Winter League, 2022!

Attention quizzers!

All of you have been enthusiastically answering the Question of The Day (QoTD) for the past week, and it’s time to up the ante in the Don Quizote Winter League! The league will be running during the next three weekends, starting tomorrow! Go nuts, for the top three winners of the Winter League take home a precious jar of Nutella each!

The first 5 questions will be spread over this weekend. They will be published at the following timings:
12 PM, Saturday [10 December 2022]
6 PM, Saturday [10 December 2022]
12 AM, Sunday [11 December 2022]
12 PM, Sunday [11 December 2022]
6 PM, Sunday [11 December 2022]

The quicker you answer correctly, the more points you get. The scoring system is as follows:
First 5 mins: 20 points
Next 5 mins: 18 points
Next 10 mins : 16 points
Next 10 mins : 15 points
Next 15 mins : 14 points
Next 15 mins : 12 points
Next 30 mins: 10 points (one hour has passed)
After this, 1 point will be deducted for every 30 mins passed.

For the third question (which has a 12 hour answer duration: Sunday, 12AM to 12PM), The first hour follows the same marking scheme as the other questions. Then, 1 point will be deducted for every hour that has passed.

In the case of multiple attempts, the latest attempt, if correct, shall be considered with half the points being awarded for it.

Announcing the Don Quizote Winter Season!

Warm greetings to our ardent quizzers, alumni, seniors and the fresh faces! We’ll be getting started with the Winter Season from tomorrow, the 5th of December, and will keep uploading questions for the next 3 weeks, as per the below format.

Question of the Day at 12 PM, Monday to Friday.

A Mini League will run on the weekends with questions at 12PM, 6PM and 12AM, comprising a total of 5 questions. A leaderboard will be maintained for the mini-league as per tradition, and delicious prizes await the victors of each mini-league!

Drop your answers in the comments (the purple chatbox to the right of the title). The comments will only be approved and the correct answer disclosed when the next question is put up. Kindly refrain from googling, it takes the fun out of it.

P.S. You need to create an account on WordPress in order to comment your answers on the posted questions. So make one if you haven’t already!

Announcing the Third Summer Mini-League Winners!

And with the third Summer Mini-League ending, we conclude the Don Quizote Summer Season of 2022. We are immensely delighted to see a large number of participants, and we hope that you will continue the same enthusiasm in our upcoming events!

We have been hosting the quiz, Question of The Day (QoTD) on our quizzing blog (donquizote.wordpress.com) for the past few weeks, and now that you have your juices flowing, let’s spice up the air with the second week(end) of Summer Mini-Leagues. Announcing the DQ Winter League Victors!

Following a frenzied three days, with nine questions and intense competition for the three jars of Nutella at stake, the Don Quizote Winter League Legends are Priyanth, Arushi and Saksham!

Priyanth and Arushi are tied in first place with an incredible 125 points and Saksham close behind in third place with a hard earned 100 points. The three victors will enjoy a taste of Literati tradition as we’ll soon be delivering their well deserved Nutella treats!
